Comfort Zone Equals Danger Zone
ByIs it your goal to get out of your comfort zone? If no, then why? Complacency = mediocrity. It still surprises me that people insist on being “comfortable” and don’t strive to live more engaging lives.
I was the victim of “comfort” for many years. I thought I was comfortable. Nice job, nice paycheck, nice things. Boy was I wrong!
When I started to analyze the way I was living I realized that I was not comfortable at all. I had a lot of debt and no savings and no time freedom. I knew it was time for a change. It was time to get out of my comfort zone. And that is the only was for us to grow.
Sometimes you have to take a step back to take a huge leap forward. I had a burning desire to be a successful online entrepreneur… to make five figures per month… to be able to work from laptop at any location of my choosing.
And I knew that as long as my life was devoted to my unrewarding job, and as long as I was making my boss rich and not myself, I would never achieve what I wanted. So, what did I do?
I fired my boss and dove into online marketing full-time! Wow… talk about guts, talk about getting out of your comfort zone, talk about being scared!
Now I’m not saying that you should quit your job tomorrow. What I am saying is that if you force yourself into doing things on a daily basis that you normally don’t do, that you might not like doing, but you know by doing these things it will improve your life, then you need to do so, and do so now!
Make the time to work on a special project, to exercise, to read a book, to spend more time with your loved ones. It’s time to be innovative!
Lack of innovation is what is plaguing numerous businesses right now and I think that is a main factor of unemployment. A fellow entrepreneur went out in his community and surveyed 21 businesses about how they conduct their business… and not one of them is utilizing the internet to attract more customers or deepen relationships with current clients.
WHY?! The Internet has revolutionized the business world yet so many brick-and-mortar businesses still don’t see the potential. Some of these businesses are closing shop. No surprise here.
Just remember, if you want to change your life, then you have to change HOW you live your life. You will thank yourself later. But never become comfortable, even when you are successful. Always strive to be better.
